How To Apply

1. Create an Account: Register on the Du Digital Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. Click here to register.
2. Fill Out the Government Application Form: Click here to access the form.
3. Book an Appointment: Schedule your visit to Du Digital ICAC by choosing a suitable date and time. Click here to book your appointment
4. Prepare Your Documents: Carry your passport, photographs, and all supporting documents as listed in the Documents Checklist section.
5. Visit Du Digital ICAC: Visit the designated ICAC (as per your jurisdiction). The address and location will be mentioned in your appointment letter. Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
6. Submit Your Application & Pay Fees: Submit your documents and pay the applicable fees at ICAC. Refer to the Fee Details section for exact charges.
7. Enroll for Biometrics (if required): Complete biometric enrollment if applicable.
8. Application Submission Complete: You’ve successfully submitted your visa application.
9. Track Your Application: Monitor your application’s status online. Click here to track your application

Business Visa – Thai Nationals

• Completed online visa application form
• Two recent photographs (2 inch x 2 inch) with a white background
• Two copies of the passport bio page
• One copy of Thai ID card
• Letter from the Thai company affixed with the official company seal (must clearly state the purpose of the visit).
  Original signature and company seal required.
  If Certificate of Employment is issued outside Thailand, it must specify the reason why it cannot be issued in Thailand.
• Invitation letter from company in India (original/copy)
• Copy of registration paper/Certificate of Incorporation of Indian company
• Original passport with at least 6 months’ validity and a minimum of two blank pages
• Copy of previous Indian business visa (if applicable)
• China Form for Chinese passport (must be filled in capital letters)

Business for Sport:

• Invitation letter from sports organization in India (original/copy)
• Clearance from Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs (MEA/MHA)
• Certificate letter from Thai organization specifying the purpose of visit (original signature or company seal only)

Business Visa – Non-Thai Nationals

• Completed online visa application form
• Two recent photographs (2 inch x 2 inch) with a white background
• Two copies of the passport bio page
• One copy of valid Thai visa
• One copy of valid Thai work permit
• Invitation letter from the company in India (original/copy)
• Letter from the Thai company affixed with the company seal (must clearly state the purpose of the visit).
  Original signature and company seal required.
  If Certificate of Employment is issued outside Thailand, it must specify the reason why it cannot be issued in Thailand.
• Copy of registration papers/Certificate of Incorporation of Indian company
• Reference Form
  (must be completed using black ink only and in capital letters)
• Original passport with at least 6 months’ validity and a minimum of two blank pages
• Copy of the previous Indian business visa (if applicable)
• Bangladesh Form for Bangladesh passport / Sri Lanka Form for Sri Lankan passport
• Sponsorship Certificate for Pakistani passport
• For Pakistan passport: all documents must be submitted with five extra copies

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is the purpose of a Business Visa to India?
   A Business Visa is granted to foreign nationals visiting India for business meetings, trade, investments, or similar commercial engagements. It does not permit employment or income-generating activities within India.
2. Can I establish a company in India on a Business Visa?
   Yes. If you’re planning to start a business in India (as an owner or director), you may apply under the Business Visa category. Please refer to the checklist for “Business Visa for Owners” during your application process.
3. Can I work for an Indian company on a Business Visa?
   No. If you are being hired or paid by an Indian company, you must apply for an Employment Visa.
4. Is a Business Visa extendable or convertible?
   No, Business Visas are non-extendable and non-convertible under normal conditions. A new application must be submitted for any change in visa type or extension.
5. When does my visa validity begin?
   The validity starts from the date of issue, not from the date of travel mentioned in the application.
6. Is biometric submission mandatory?
   Yes, for 5-year or long-term visas, biometric data (fingerprints and a photo) must be submitted at the time of application.
7. What documents are required for a Business Visa?
   Basic documents include:

1. What happens if I overstay or violate visa rules?
   Overstaying or misusing the visa category can result in legal penalties, blacklisting, or deportation. Business Visa holders staying more than 180 days in a calendar year must register with FRRO/FRO.
2. Is visa issuance guaranteed after application submission?
   Submission of an application does not guarantee visa approval. The decision lies solely with the Indian Embassy/Consulate, and the outcome is final.
